UK & European Abnormal Load Permit
In the United Kingdom, if you require a permit to move an abnormal load, the haulier notifies his intention to move, giving the prescribed period of notice to the authorities. We can produce these abnormal load noftifications on your behalf. As long as no route variation is specified, the haulier is then free to move his load. In other words, no permit as such is issued and just a copy of the movement order supplied to the authorities needs to be carried with the transport.
However, in other European Countries, a haulier must apply for a permit and cannot move until he is in possession of the written permit issued by the respective authority. This is a fundamental difference to the UK system.
