             ! ! !   Important information for Abnormal load transporters in France  ! ! !

The French regulations governing the marking and signing of Abnormal loads was updated in the revision dated 26 November 2003.

At this time the specification governing the quality of the materials to be used in the fabrication of the signs was upgraded to require the background material of the signs to be mounted on retro reflective material Class II to ECN104 standard. Please note that this material is very expensive.

Recently the French Police have started to enforce these regulations regarding the signs being used by hauliers and immobilising those (including French Hauliers) found not to have the new style of marker boards and signs.

Flexible signs are no longer permitted and must be rigid and capable of standing in a vertical plane.

Please see below the specification for the sizes of the new signs which we are now able to supply if required. Our signs are mounted on 5mm foamex board which can be mounted over existed surfaces or easily attached to a frame.
